Totally built and staffed by young people from NJ Youth Corps, The Jersey Explorer Children’s Museum is filled with exciting and unique exhibits and learning experiences for the children who visit us. Enter the Tomb of the Ancient Kings and search through the dark hallways, hidden doors and secret passages to find the treasure and the mummy. Come aboard the Stargazer spaceship where the children become the crew for a one hour journey through a distant galaxy. Take a trip on the Time Traveler where visitors travel back on a secret mission to a farmhouse basement that is a safe house on the Underground Railroad or journey to a church in Birmingham Alabama during the civil rights struggles of the 1960s. In our Jukebox Timeline Café children dance their way through 4 decades of history. In Scienceworks they have the chance to “play” in science, Come to Main Street and join a parade through the center of a small town Off the Page Puppet Theater, Roscoe’s House, Creative Corner and Vietnam Memories are among the other exhibits and presentations offered both at the museum and with our traveling programs.
