Birthday Party Details
Most parties, at the Explorer, run for about 2 hours. During the first 30 minutes of your party children will have a chance to play in "the Village." This open-ended play time allows your visitors a chance to arrive. The next hour is for exhibits, presentations, hands on activities and puppet shows. Children will be divided, based on age, into small groups (If it is a small party they all stay together) and they will be escorted by staff members to each exhibit and presentation. Parents will work with JECM staff to select the exhibits and presentations that will be best for your child's age and interests. When the presentations and exhibit visits are finished, children then return to party rooms for the final 30 minutes to sing Happy Birthday and to eat and enjoy the rest of party.

PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Parents are responsible for any decorations, food, drinks and or additional items for the birthday party.
- During your party you will be using the entire museum. The Party room is available for the final 30 minutes for the cake, eating and singing part of your party.
JECM STAFF PROVIDES
- JECM will be presenting programs throughout the building and will assist parents in setting up and transporting gifts and birthday supplies in and out from your vehicles at the beginning and at the end of the party. Our staff will be supervising the children at all times.
- We have a kitchen so you will be able to bring items and place them in the refrigerator to stay cool.
